SALUDA YOUNG FARMER AGRIBUSINESS CHAPTER TOPS IN STATE

February 15, 2016

(February 2016) – The Saluda County Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter was recognized as the Outstanding Chapter in South Carolina at conference of agriculturalists held February 27, 2016.


Nationally recognized for its sponsorship of a Truck and Tractor Pull, the Saluda Chapter is affiliated with Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League. The annual show draws entries and spectators from throughout the East Coast and Mid-West States . Funds raised at the event are used by the chapter to provide a number of college scholarships to area students.

The chapter makes its land area and other facilities available annually for the Saluda High School Rodeo. The widely recognized Saluda County Farm-City Week “Taste and See” event is supported by the Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter and attended by many of its members.

The chapter received a cash award and an engraved plaque from the State Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association.

Officers of the chapter include President Terry Brown, Vice President Daniel Patterson, Secretary Marlene Bushey, Treasurer Candice Miller, and Agricultural Education Instructor at Saluda High School Amanda Crouch, serves at the professional adviser.
